Crochet Simple Textured Stitch Tutorial

This crochet stitch is perfect for adding some texture and depth to your projects. It's created by using basic crochet stitches in a unique combination to achieve a raised and textured effect. Super easy tutorial!

Chain Stitch – ch

Half treble / half double crochet – htr / hdc Double crochet / Single crochet – dc/sc Treble / Double crochet – tr/dc

Instructions

Foundation Chain: Multiples of 3 + 3

Row 1: Skip 2ch, * work 1dc/sc + 1htr/hdc + 1tr/dc in next ch, skip 2ch; rep from *, 1htr/hdc in last ch, turn.

Row 2: Make 3ch, * 1dc/sc in back loop of next dc/sc below, 2ch; rep from *, 1dc/sc in back loop of next dc/sc, 1dc/sc in second ch, turn.

Row 3: Make 2ch, skip first dc/sc, * work 1dc/sc + 1htr/hdc + 1tr/dc in next dc/sc below; rep from *, 1htr/hdc in first ch, turn.

Repeat rows 2 - 3 until you have reached your desired length.

Colors and rows: 1 & 2 –white; 2 & 4 – blue; 5 & 6 – white, etc. “Right Side”
