Abbreviations:
ch = chain
Lhdc = linked half double crochet
st = stitch
yo = yarn over
beg = beginning
Lhdc (linked half double crochet): insert hook into single diagonal thread at left-hand side of previous st, yo, pull up a loop, insert hook into next st, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull through all 3 loops on hook.
Note: To make 1st Lhdc at beg of row, treat 2nd ch from hook as the single vertical thread
Multiple: ch any number of chains + 1 for the foundation ch
Row 1: 1 Lhdc in 3rd ch from hook (picking up loop through 2nd ch from hook), 1 Lhdc in next and in every ch to end. Turn
Row 2: ch 2 (does not count as st), 1 Lhdc in same st (begin st by inserting hook into 2nd ch from hook – see photo below), 1 Lhdc in each st to end. Turn.
Continue repeating row 2 to desired size.
