1. Start by chaining a multiple of six plus two. You will start working in the second chain from your hook.
2. So, make a single crochet in the second chain from your hook.
3. Make another single crochet in the next stitch.
4. Chain five.
5. Skip three stitches and make a single crochet in the next stitch.
6. Make two more single crochets in the next two stitches.
7. Chain five.
8. Skip three stitches and make three single crochets in the next three stitches.
9. Then repeat: chain five and make three single crochets in the next three stitches.
10. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row. At the end of the row chain five as usually.
11. Then skip three stitches and make two single crochets in the last two stitches.

12. Chain three and turn your work around. Chain three counts as a stitch.
13. Make a double crochet in the second stitch.
14. Chain one.
15. Then make a single crochet in the third chain of the chain five.
16. Chain one.
17. Make three double crochets in the next three single crochets of the previous row.
18. Then repeat. Chain one.
19. Make a single crochet in the third chain of the chain five.
20. Chain one.
21. Make three double crochets in the next three single crochets.
22. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.
