My personal list of must-have oils
Lavender. This calming oil is a popular choice for those looking to relieve both emotional and physical stress ranging from sadness to headaches. Its soothing scent diminishes feelings of restlessness and exhaustion. It improves sleep by reducing feelings of anxiety and emotional distress. It promotes a sense of inner peace by diminishing irritability.
Peppermint essential oil is a cooling oil, used for respiratory issues, in case of digestive discomfort, pain, headaches, fevers, and to flavor food. This oil improves focus and mental clarity, boosts energy, clears the respiratory tract, and releases muscle tightness. It is used to soothe and reduce aches and digestive problems. Its anti-bacterial property protects the body against harmful bacteria.
Lemon. This stimulating oil is known to detoxify, disinfect, and induce sleep. Its ability to calm and relieve stress contributes to its ability to boost immunity, which prevents fevers and infections. It is an anti-fungal oil that is known to rejuvenate skin by soothing irritations, increasing skin luster, and reducing excessive oil.
Tea tree essential oil: a powerful, anti-septic immune system stimulant that is beneficial for eliminating bacteria, viruses, and fungi. It can treat wounds, provide soothing relief for aches, pains, and congestion, promote a sense of calm, and disinfect surfaces.
Frankincense. This oil has a grounding scent and promotes easy breathing. It induces feelings of tranquility, contentment, and relief from physical and mental fatigue, as well as depression and anxiety, which are common factors in sleeplessness. It is known to reduce heart rate and blood pressure and to allow the body to reach an ideal body temperature that is conducive to sleep.
Oregano oil is reputed to relieve cough and cold symptoms, to disinfect, and to soothe topical discomforts such as inflammation and itchiness. It can be used in numerous body care products ranging from skin and hair care to emotional care through aromatherapy.
Rosemary. This pain-relieving oil stimulates blood circulation, which makes it a popular remedy for arthritis, muscle and joint pains, and headaches. It promotes faster healing for wounds by facilitating the process of coagulation.
Eucalyptus essential oil is a purifying, cleansing, and immune-boosting. It is ideal for use in aromatherapy, and as a surface cleaning agent and a fabric freshener. Eucalyptus oil has anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, and antiseptic qualities, among other valuable properties, it can be also used for skin care.
Cedarwood essential oil is my favorite! This oil has anti-inflammatory properties that can soothe dry, itching, irritated skin such as acne and fungal infections. It can soothe aching muscles as well as tighten muscles. As a stimulant, it promotes hair growth and slows hair loss. It eliminates toxins in the body, thereby stimulating the metabolism and reducing coughs, and it is believed to enhance focus and wisdom.
