7 Amazing Knitting Hacks You Need To Know
If you need a mini pom-pom to finish off your project, use a humble kitchen fork to make it. You will need some wool and a prong-y fork.
Wrap the wool around the outer two prongs until it gets really fat. Once you are ready, cut the end of the wool and using a new small piece or a little thread, bunch the wool together and tie really tightly so it is secure. Do this in the middle of the pom pom in between the prongs to make sure it’s central and not squinty. Take your wool off the fork and cut all the loops. Be sure to get them all. Trim all the extra long straggly bits so it is big, round and beautiful. Cute and simple and ready for anything!

4. Straighten your needles.

7 Amazing Knitting Hacks You Need To Know
If your new circular needle is kinking, dip the cord into hot water for a few seconds then pull it straight.
Sometimes when you start using brand new circular needles, the cords can be a little unruly. They can get very curly and twisted from being in the packaging, which makes it hard to keep your project flat and can be frustrating to work with.
All you need to remedy this is some warm water. You want the water to be hot, but not boiling. I use my teakettle on the stove and wait until I see some steam, but warming up even just a mug of water in the microwave would work too. Dip the cords into the water for a few seconds, then stretch out the needles and give a gentle tug. The warm water will relax the plastic enough to release the curl. Only do a few seconds at a time! You don’t want to accidentally melt your cords.

Hi I learned to knit 40 years ago. Then life happens. I haven’t done anything for many years and am trying to start again. Somethings seem to change so I’m trying different ways of doing same thing. I’m trying hard to get back into all of the sewing crafts. Good feeling to be here
