1. You wipe off the disinfectant too quickly
When you spray a disinfectant on a surface, it often needs to sit for up to 10 minutes to take effect. You should not spray and wipe immediately. It's also important that you remove debris and dirt before spraying so that the disinfectant reaches all surface areas. You may have used the disinfectant incorrectly in other ways. Therefore, read the label as it will tell you the dwell time of the product.
2. Poor loading of the dishwasher
If you load your dishwasher messily or overload it, your dishes will not be cleaned well. It would be best if you take the time to put things in their proper place, such as putting your cups in the top rack and making sure they are upside down. Shuffle the utensils so they do not stick together, and make sure the spray arms can reach the dirty areas. It's also important to keep your dishwasher itself clean so it can do its job effectively. Also, make sure your dishwasher soap is of high quality for best results.
3 Scrub a fresh carpet stain.
If you have spilled a stain on your carpet, your first reaction is probably to aggressively scrub the stain! This action will only make things worse for your carpet, as it will push the stain deeper into the carpet and destroy the fibers.
The proper response is to gently blot the area to absorb as much of the stain as possible. Once the spot is dry, a stain remover like Blue Magic Carpet Stain and Spot Lifter will do wonders for your carpet. Just follow the instructions.
4. Refrigerator vents and grills that have not been cleaned.
Did you know that you should clean your refrigerator vent and grill? Many of you probably do not clean them, but should start. Refrigerators can die faster if the vent is not cleaned. Dust accumulates in the grill and vent, and the dust in the vent causes the system to slow down.
So once a month, gently wipe down the vent and grill with soapy water. You can use a vacuum cleaner for dirt and grime in the hard-to-reach areas. Also, remember to clean the top of the refrigerator.
5. Dirty sponges
When gathering your materials for a big cleaning job, make sure your products are in good condition. A dirty sponge will not work for you, it will work against you! A sponge soaks up dirt and is probably the dirtiest item in your home.
You will need to disinfect it frequently or replace it altogether. If you do not, you'll spread the germs you are trying to fight. It's good to keep spare sponges on hand for dirty dishes and surfaces.
6. Kitchen handles and doorknobs
There's plenty of dirt in the kitchen, which means germs accumulate there. If you do not clean them, it's bad for the occupants of the house. The doorknobs and handles in your kitchen are often forgotten when cleaning.
A lot of time is spent in the kitchen, so these areas easily attract grease, dirt, and bacteria! You do not need an expensive cleaner to remove the buildup. A wipe down with soapy water will do just fine. Be sure to dry thoroughly to remove water spots.
7. Clean everything at once
It is unlikely that your scheduled cleaning day will be enough to clean everything that needs cleaning! There are areas and things that should have an entire day dedicated to them or that should be cleaned regularly.
For example, set aside a day where you only clean the bathrooms of your home and nothing else. This way, you can be sure to clean thoroughly without rushing to the next item. Frequently touched surfaces like handles, keyboards, and cabinets should be cleaned regularly, not just on "cleaning days."
Thank you for the cleaning hacks. I will be making a separate folder for these hacks. Again, thanks.
