Having a warm, fragrant salt bath is a wonderful way to relax and soothe tired muscles, while enriching your skin. Created with natural healthy ingredients that help soften your skin with a soft and refreshed feeling.

Bath salts contain magnesium - the “Magic Mineral”, which is essential for combating stress, detoxification and maintaining healthy energy levels. Unfortunately over the last hundred years our soil and water supply has undergone a rapid depletion of this vital mineral, leaving many of us deficient. Because magnesium is easily absorbed through the skin, bath salts are a wonderful way to help replenish the body's stores while soothing tired muscles and frazzled nerves.

And I’m glad to share with you an easy recipe of bath salt, that takes only a few minutes to mix together, and can be dressed up nicely with a pretty ribbon to make a lovely homemade gift.

Ingredients

2 cups Epsom salt or magnesium bath flakes

2 tablespoons calendula petals

2 tablespoons rose petals

2 tablespoons lavender blossoms

15-20 drops lavender essential oil

Instructions

Mix ingredients in a small bowl. Spoon into an airtight container and store out of direct sunlight.

To use, just fill bath with water, add 1 cup of bath salt, and swish with your hand until dissolved. Soak for 20-30 minutes.

Bath salts will stay good indefinitely, but the fragrance and potency of the essential oils may fade over time, usually within about three to six months.

  • Peppermint - Sixteen to twenty drops peppermint essential oil.
  • Lavender - Twenty to twenty-five drops lavender essential oil.
  • Earthy Scent - Six drops cedar wood essential oil and ten drops patchouli essential oil.
