Choose a playlist.

Nothing makes time fly by like listening to an entertaining podcast or even playlist.
You can find several energetic tunes to put you in a productive mood or simply listen to the latest news or actual podcasts.

Implement a pre-soaking system.

9 Handy Dish Washing Hacks

Rather than waiting to clean up after your dinner, start cleaning as you cook. While you're waiting for water to boil, immediately wash off measuring cups and mixing bowls along with cooking utensils. As soon as you're done using a pot or pan, scrape it off with a rubber spatula and quickly soak it in hot water. By the time you're done eating, the hot water will have loosened the excess food, making it easy to clean off.

Use aluminum foil to get stains off silverware.

9 Handy Dish Washing Hacks

Cleaning dingy silverware doesn't need to be a problem. To ensure your silverware is sparkling, line a cake pan with aluminum foil and fill pan with water. Add 1 tablespoon of sodium bicarbonate per two cups of water. Heat water to 150 degrees in the oven and lay silverware in pan, making sure it's touching the aluminum foil.
17

Use Coke or Pepsi to clean your dirty pots and pans.

9 Handy Dish Washing Hacks

While soda may possibly stain your teeth or clothes, it does exactly the opposite for your pots and pans. The best-kept secret is using Coke to remove burnt stains from pots. Pour in the pop, let it sit overnight and the stains practically wipe off.
17

Switch on your slow cooker to clean it.

9 Handy Dish Washing Hacks
Slow cookers are notoriously hard to clean. However, there's an easy way to get them spotless: remove the food from your slow cooker, fill it with soapy water, and turn the machine on low for an hour to get off any hard-to-clean messes. When you're done, let the slow cooker cool and use baking soda on a clean sponge to get rid of any remaining residue.
16

Dry your sponges upright to keep them cleaner.

9 Handy Dish Washing Hacks

Instead of placing your sponges flat on the side of your sink or soap dish, where they'll sit in their own bacteria-filled water and never get fully dry, use a clothespin to keep them upright as they dry.
12

Use dish detergent to clean your coffee pot.

9 Handy Dish Washing Hacks

Have a glass coffee pot that's looking worse for wear? I recommend putting a little bit of dishwashing detergent in the bottom of the pot and running hot water through the machine. Let the combination sit for an hour or so and, when you're ready to pour it out, any old coffee stains will go down the drain with it.
13

Clean your wooden cutting boards with salt.

9 Handy Dish Washing Hacks

Use a handful of salt and half a lemon to get those wooden cutting boards clean and fresh. After rinsing your board with warm water, rub the salt over the board in concentric circles using the lemon as a buffer. When you're done, give it another hot-water rinse and put it in the dish rack to dry.
14

Use vinegar to get out tough pan stains.

9 Handy Dish Washing Hacks

Just a little bit of vinegar can go a long way when it comes to getting tough stains out of your cookware. If you have a stain on the bottom of a pan, boiling vinegar will remove it.

Great tips. I'm 72 and learned some of these tips from my grandmother who never had a dishwasher. The Coke tip works on removing rust on cast iron.

Thank you, dear Rida! Glad you liked the tips. Exactly, Coke is amazing when it comes to rust removal and not only that! Coke also helps to clean windows and carpets, and grease stains as well.
