Cleaning Grout In The Bathroom
Cleaning grout is usually a difficult affair but the following methods will give you the upper hand.
Instructions: You will need vinegar, baking soda or oxygen bleach.
A grout cleaning brush or an old toothbrush, and possibly a steam cleaner for more difficult cases.
1. Make a 50-50 mixture of water and vinegar. Spray the area with this mixture. Scrub the area with a brush making circular motions for better effect.
2. If the vinegar solution does not work, next in line is baking soda. Simply make a paste of baking soda and water. Apply this paste on the grout lines then scrub in circular motions with a brush. Rinse and check the results. Repeat if necessary.
3. For more stubborn grout, you need a non-toxic oxygen bleach. This is a combination of borax and some other materials. Make a thick paste with water, leave it on for 2 minutes then scrub the grout.
4. Lastly, you can rent a steam cleaner from a home improvement store in your neighborhood.
