If I had to come up with only one thing that would make knitting and crocheting easier, I’d say organization. Whether that’s organizing my yarn stash, keeping track of my rows or stitches, or keeping track of my patterns, I need it all! Today I’d like to share with you some useful crochet apps that can enhance your craft life. And they are also free of charge. Probably, you will like them, too.
1. KnitCompanion (iOs and Android)
With this app, you can track your row and progress along the way, keep a color and count for every project, knit faster and make fewer mistakes.
2. My Row Counter, Knit & Crochet (iOs and Android)
A wonderful app for counting stitches and keep on track. It’s easy to use - always my first benchmark. The ability to set multiple counters for a project is really useful! There is also a great ability to specify the row to return to if pattern repeats, i.e. if rows 4-12 are repeated in the instructions you can set it up it to go back to row 4 on each repeat. It is possible to link counters and use the voice command feature and progress through the pattern with your own voice.
3. iStitchCounters (iOs)
Sometimes it's hard to keep track of where you are as you are working on a project. Which row are you on? Which round did you just complete If you have a hard time keeping track of your stitch count on your crochet projects and patterns, iStitchCounters is the app for you. This crochet app for iPad and iPhone allows you to easily keep track of your projects and process, allowing you to move seamlessly between projects. The counters are flexible, allowing you to track stitches, rows, rounds, and more.
4 Knitting Buddy (Android)
The Knitting Buddy app is great for keeping track of your progress in multiple ways. You can use it to track the projects that you are working on so that you can easily remember where you were in a particular pattern or project whenever you go back to work on it. Keep track of multiple projects, keep notes for each project, time yourself, and find the abbreviation list if you get stuck.
5. Crochet Stitches (Android)
This app is perfect of crocheters of all levels. Whether you just need a refresher or want to learn some brand new crochet stitches, this app contains tutorials and how-tos for 82 different crochet stitches. All of the tutorials in this app come with a helpful diagram as well as text.
