Instruction:

Foundation Chain: Multiples of 30 + 5

Techniques used in this stitch (British term / American term): Chain stitch – ch

Slip stitch – sl.st

Double crochet / Single crochet – dc / sc

Treble / Double crochet – tr / dc

1 tr/dc decrease

Row 1: 4 ch skip, * 1ch skip, 1 tr/dc decrease in next 2ch, 10 tr/dc, 2tr/dc in the same ch, 1ch, 1 tr/dc in next ch, 15ch, insert hook through two loops of tr/dc, make sl.st (see detailed tutorial of cable stitch pattern),1tr/ dc in next ch, 1ch, 2tr/dc in the same ch, 10tr/dc, 1 tr/dc decrease in next 2ch, 1ch skip; rep from *, 1 tr/dc in last ch. Turn.

Row 2: : 3 ch, * work 6 times: 1 tr/dc in tr/dc below + 1ch + skip 1st; then work 1tr/dc + 1ch in space of 1ch, 1tr/dc in tr/dc below, 2dc/sc + 23tr/dc + 2dc/sc in ring of 15 ch, 1 tr/dc in tr/dc below, 1ch + 1 tr/dc in space of 1ch, work 6 times: skip 1 st + 1ch + 1tr/dc in next st; rep from *, 1 tr/dc in ch below. Turn.

Row 3: 3ch, * 1 tr/dc decrease over first space of 1 ch and tr/dc below, work 5 times: 1 tr/dc in space of 1ch, 1 tr/dc in tr/dc below; 2tr/dc in the same space of 1 ch, 1ch, 1tr/dc in tr/dc below, 15ch, insert hook through two loops of tr/dc, make sl.st, 1 tr/dc in tr/dc below, 1ch, 2tr/dc in the same space of 1 ch, work 5 times: 1 tr/dc in tr/dc below, 1 tr/dc in space of 1ch; 1 tr/dc decrease over tr/dc below and space of 1ch; rep from*, 1tr/dc in third ch. Turn.

Repeat rows 2 - 3 until you have reached your desired length.

Finishing:

Work rows 3 and 2, but don't make loops for cable (see pictures below).

The last row work like row 3, but instead 15ch and sl.st work next:

Drop the loop from your hook. Insert your hook from front to back into top of cable loop.

Grab the dropped loop with your hook and pull it through the top of cable.
