Vintage Lola Crochet Ripple Throw Pattern

This blanket turned out even better than what I’d envisioned! There’s so much I like about this vintage style blanket. It’s warm, chunky and completely reversible. It’s also easy to make as it is worked with a simple one row repeat! The ripples are pretty and understated and the bobbles/clusters are feminine and full of character.

Grab a hook and let's do it.

Materials:

  • US Size P 11.5mm hook (ensure hook matches mm indicated)
  • 3 Skeins Lion Brand Yarn Wool Ease Thick & Quick Yarn in Fisherman (170 g/skein)
  • 3 Bonus Bundles Lion Brand Yarn Thick & Quick Acrylic in Oxford Grey (340 g/bundle)
  • Pattern uses approximately 1450 grams (Note: 1 Bonus Bundle contains the equivalent of two regular skeins of the solid colors in Wool Ease Thick & Quick)
  • Tapestry Needle
  • Scissors
  • Measuring Tape

Size: 36” x 66” Blanket length can easily be adjusted by crocheting for more or fewer rows. This blanket was crocheted loosely. If you’re not getting the width you’d like, adjust your hook to a larger size or add more stitches to your beginning chain. In order to adjust width, make your chain longer or shorter while keeping a multiple 10 + 3 extra stitches.

Abbreviations (US) & Skills:

  • ch – chain
  • dc – double crochet
  • bobble – *yo, insert hook in ch2 space, yo, pull up yarn; repeat from * for a total of 4 times or until there are 9 loops on your hook, yo, pull through all 9 loops, ch 1.
