Crochet Star Stitch Tutorial

The Crochet Star Stitch, also known as the Marguerite Stitch or the Daisy Stitch, is a unique and textured stitch pattern that creates a stunning star-like design. Instructions

Foundation Chain: Multiples of 9 + 2

Row 1: Skip 1ch, 1dc/sc in next, 4ch, work 8-Str.st into the 8 foundation chs: *yarn over hook, insert hook into the next ch and draw up a loop about 1 cm long; rep from * 7 more times,

yarn over and draw through 16 loops,

yarn over and draw through 2 loops.

Make 4ch. Work * 1dc/sc in next ch, 4ch, 8-Str.st, 4ch; rep from *, 1dc/sc in last ch, turn.

Row 2: Make 10 ch, * 1dc/sc in dc/sc below, 9ch; rep from*, 1dc/sc in last dc/sc below, turn.

Row 3: Make 4ch, skip 1 row and work 4-Str.st into 4chs: yarn over hook, insert hook into 1st ch and draw up a loop, repeat preceded step 3 times more (insert the hook into 2nd, 3rd and 4th ch), yarn over and draw through 8 loops, yarn over and draw through 2 loops. Make 4ch and * 1dc/sc in top of Str.st below, 4ch, skip 1row and work 8-Str.st into 4ch + 4ch (see picture below), 4ch; rep from *,

1dc/sc in top of Str.st below, 4ch, skip 1row and work 4-Str.st into 4ch, 1d.tr/tr in dc/sc, turn.

Row 4: Make 5ch, * 1dc/sc in dc/sc below, 9ch; rep from*, 1dc/sc in dc/sc below, 4ch, 1dc/sc in top of 4-Str.st, turn.

Row 5: Make 1ch and 1dc/sc in dc/sc, * 4ch, skip 1row and work 8-Str.st into 4ch + 4ch, 4ch, 1dc/sc in top of Str.st below; rep from *. Work last dc/sc in d.tr/tr below, and then turn.

Repeat rows 2 - 5 until you have reached your desired length.
