This easy Large Scalloped Edging is the perfect finish for your crochet blanket. It doesn’t need a special pattern for the corners and it only takes 2 rows to complete it.

The Large Scalloped Edging is made with a base row of chains onto which you crochet the large treble scallops and it can be adjusted to any type of edging.

  • sk – skip

Pattern Tutorial

  • ch2 at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch
  • IMPORTANT: This pattern is adjusted for base rows that have 3sc in each corner, if you don’t have them, then you can work in the corner stitch and the 2 stitches that are on either side of that corner stitch.

Round 1: Join with a slip knot in the corner of the blanket, ch2 (does not count as a stitch) starting from the corner stitch, *(dc, ch5, dc), sk2, sc in next, ch3, sk2, sc in next, sk2*, repeat from * all around the edge, sl st in the first dc made at the beginning of the round.

Round 2: sl st in the ch5, ch2 (does not count as a stitch), *12tr in the ch5 space, sc in the ch3 space*, repeat from * all around until you have crocheted in the last ch3, sl st into the first tr you have made in the round, fasten off, weave in the ends.
