How to Crochet the Picot Mesh Stitch Photo Tutorial

Materials:
- Hjertegarn Diamond mercerized cotton 8/4, 50 g = 165 m, color: sea green 706
- 2.0 mm hook
Instructions:
Row 1
1. Start by chaining a multiple of four plus two. You will start working in the second chain from your hook.
2. So, make a single crochet in the second chain from your hook.
3. Chain one.
4. Next you will make a picot stitch. So, chain three.
5. Then make a slip stitch working back in the third chain from the hook. So, insert your hook in the third chain back.
6. Yarn over.
7. Pull the yarn through. Now you have two loops on your hook.
8. Pull the first loop through the second one. You have just made a slip stitch and completed the picot stitch!
9. Chain one.
10. Next you will make the second picot stitch. So, chain three more chains.
11. Then make a slip stitch working backwards in the third chain from your hook.
12. Chain one.
13. Then skip three stitches of the foundation chain and make a single crochet in the next one.
14. Chain one.
15. Make a picot stitch: chain three and make a slip stitch working backwards in the third chain from your hook.
16. Chain one.
17. Make another picot stitch.
18. Chain one.
19. Skip three stitches of the foundation chain and make a single crochet in the next stitch.
20. Then repeat: chain one, make a picot stitch, chain one, make another picot stitch, chain one, skip three stitches and make a single crochet in the next stitch.
21. The row should end with a single crochet.
Row 2
22. Chain three and turn your work around. Chain three counts as a stitch.
23. Then make a picot stitch: chain three more chains and make a slip stitch in the third chain back.
24. Chain one.
25. Then make a single crochet in the chain that is in between two picots.
26. Chain one.
27. Make a picot stitch.
28. Chain one.
29. Make another picot stitch.
30. Chain one.
31. Make a single crochet in the chain that is in between the next two picots.
32. Then repeat. Chain one, make a picot stitch, chain one, make another picot stitch and chain one.
33. Then make a single crochet in the chain that is in between the next two picots.
34. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.
35. At the end of the row make the last single crochet in the chain that is in between the last two picots.
36. Then chain one.
37. Make a picot stitch.
38. Then make a double crochet in the last single crochet of the previous row.
Row 3
39. Chain one and turn your work around. Chain one does not count as a stitch.
40. Make a single crochet in the first stitch.
41. Chain one, make a picot stitch, chain one, make another picot stitch and chain one.
42. Make a single crochet in the chain that is in between the next two picots.
43. Then repeat. Chain one, make a picot stitch, chain one, make another picot stitch and chain one.
44. Make a single crochet in the chain that is in between the next two picots.
45. Continue working in the same way until the end of the row.
46. At the end of the row make the last single crochet in the turning chain (in the chain that is right after the last picot stitch). For the rest of the pattern repeat rows 2-3.
