Sophia Scarf with Sleeves Crochet Pattern

Materials:

Brava Recycle Yarn (size 3/DK, acrylic yarn)

-approx. 875 yards

Tunisian Crochet hook in size 7mm

Double ended 7mm Tunisian crochet hook

Gauge: 11.25 sts x 10 rows = 4” square using Thdc

Dimensions: approx. 14″ wide (35 cm) x 80″ long (203 cm)

Pattern Notes (for main body):

Pattern written using US terms.

YO = Yarn Over

Backward Pass (main body only) = Ch-1, YO, pull through three loops.

Thdc = Tunisian Half Double Crochet (tutorial here)

TKS = Tunisian Knit Stitch (tutorial here)

TPS = Tunisian Purl Stitch (tutorial here)

ES = Edge Stitch (final stitch pulled up of the Forward Pass)

Inc = Increase = Yarn over, pull up a loop in the back horizontal bar of the previous row’s Backward Pass. (adds 2 loops to the hook)

Dec = Decrease = Pull up ONE loop in each of the next two Thdc stitches. (2 loops on hook instead of 4) Treat as one Thdc on Backward Pass.

Pattern Notes for Tunisian in the Round (for cuffs):

Work in a spiral.

Backward Pass (cuffs only): YO, pull through two loops.

Never leave fewer than two loops on the hook when working in the round.

Pattern:

Row 1: Ch-30, pull up a loop in 2nd ch from hook and in each to end. (30) Backward Pass.

Rows 2 through 8 Thdc in each st to end, YO, ES. Backward Pass. (30)

Row 9: Inc, Thdc in each st to end, Inc, YO, ES. Backward Pass. (32)

Rows 10 through 48: repeat rows 2 – 9 (ending with 40 sts)

Row 49: repeat row 9 (42)

Rows 50 through 100: repeat row 2 (42)

Row 101: Dec, Thdc until 2 sts remain, Dec. YO, ES. Backward Pass. (40)

Rows 102 – 108: repeat row 2 (40)

Rows 109 through 148: repeat rows 101 – 108 (ending with 30 sts)

Do not fasten off. Switch to double ended 7mm hook and grab a second ball of yarn to use for the Backward Pass.

Cuffs:

Round 1: Pull up one loop in each Thdc around. Pull up a loop in ES. (30) Turn, attach Backward Pass yarn with ch-1, Backward Pass around.

Rounds 2 through 30: * TKS in each of next 2 sts, TPS in next st * repeat between * * around. (30) Backward Pass.

YO pull through the final two loops. Turn to sl st in each st around. Fasten off and weave in all ends.

Attach at other end for second cuff. Repeat.

Finishing:

Attach at any stitch near the cuff on scarf body. Ch-1, sc in each row end around the entire opening. Fasten off using Invisible Join and weave in all ends.
