Materials:
- Crochet hook: 5 mm / US: H – 8 / UK: 6
- 4 Medium, worsted weight yarn
Crochet Abbreviations:
- CA = color A
- CB = color B
- ch = chain(s)
- ch-5-space = refers to the space created by chains previously made
- dc2tog = crochet together 2 double crochet stitches
- dc3tog = crochet together 3 double crochet stitches
- dc5tog = crochet together 5 double crochet stitches
- prev = previous
- sc = single crochet
- sk = skip
- st = stitch(es)
Notes:
- The rose garden crochet stitch pattern is a stitch multiple of 6 stitches. Add 4 for base chain.
- Color A is cut after each odd row & then reattached on the beginning of the next odd row.
Instructions:
With CA ch a multiple of 6 + 4.
Row 1 (RS): With CB: dc2tog in the 6th ch from hook, with CA: ch 5, with CB: dc2tog in same st as last dc2tog, with CA: ch 2, sk 2 st, sc in next st, *with CA: ch 2, sk 2 st, with CB: dc2tog in next st, with CA: ch 5, with CB: dc2tog in same st as last dc2tog, with CA: ch 2, sk 2 st, sc in next st*, repeat from *to* until end of row, cut CA, turn.
Row 2 with CB: ch 4, sk 2 st, dc2tog in next dc2tog from prev row, ch 2, dc 1 in prev dc2tog, sc in next ch-5-space, *ch 2, dc5tog placed as following: 1 around prev st, 2 in top of each of the next 2 dc2tog from prev row, close dc5tog, ch 2, dc in prev dc5tog, sc in next ch-5-space*, repeat from *to* until last ch-5-space, ch 2, dc3tog placed as following: 1 around prev st, 2 in top of next dc2tog from prev row, close dc3tog, turn.
Row 3: With CB: ch 2, dc 1 in dc3tog from prev row, *with CA: ch 2, sc 1 in next sc from prev row, ch 2, with CB: dc2tog in next dc5tog from prev row, with CA: ch 5, with CB: dc2tog in same st as last dc2tog*, repeat from *to* until there’s half a rose left, with CA: ch 2, sc 1 in next sc from prev row, ch 2, with CB: dc2tog to in dc2tog from prev row, cut CA, turn.
Row 4 with CB: Ch 5 st, dc5tog placed as following: 1 in 3rd ch from hook, 2 in top of each of the next 2 dc2tog form prev row, close dc5tog, *ch 2, dc 1 in prev dc5tog, sc in next ch-5-space, dc5tog placed as following: 1 around prev st, 2 in top of each of the next 2 dc2tog from prev row, close dc5tog*, repeat from *to* until last dc2tog from prev row, ch 2, dc in prev dc5tog, dc in first dc2tog from prev row, turn.
Row 5: With CA: ch 3, with CB: dc2tog in middle of flower from prev row, with CA: ch 5, with CB: dc2tog in same st as last dc2tog, with CA: ch 2, sc in next sc from prev row, *with CA: ch 2, with CB: dc2tog in middle of flower from prev row, with CA: ch 5, with CB: dc2tog in same st as last dc2tog, with CA: ch 2, sc in next sc from prev row*, repeat from *to* until end of row, turn.
*last sc is made in ch from beg of prev row.
Repeat row 2 to 5 until project is desired size.
