Textured Cluster Crochet Stitch Photo Tutorial
The Textured Cluster Stitch is a two-row repeat crochet pattern constructed with clusters of different height stitches and back post single crochet stitches that creates a textured fabric that looks like clusters stacked on top of each other. It works great for baby blankets, modern afghans, garments, shawls, and hats.

Abbreviations

- sc – single crochet
- sc blo – sc in the back loop only
- dc – double crochet
Special Stitches
Crocheting In The Back Loop Only (blo) – A stitch has a front and back loop that meet at one end and look like a horizontal V.
To make single crochet in the back loop only, insert the hook in the middle of the V from the top, and under the back loop (the loop that is away from you), yo and draw up a loop (you will have 2 loops on the hook), yo and pull through the 2 loops on the hook.

- ch1 at the end of each row does not count as a stitch
- stitches contained within ** are the repeat section for that row
- stitches contained within ( ) are crocheted in the same stitch or chain
Instructions
Starting Chain: This pattern requires you to chain multiples of 3. My starting chain is 27ch.
Row 1: sc in 3rd ch from hook, 2dc in the same ch, *sk 2, (sc, 2dc) in the next ch*, repeat from * until you have 3ch left, sk2, sc in the last ch, ch1, turn.
Row 2: sc, *ch2, sk 2, sc blo*, repeat from * until you have 1st left, sc in the last stitch (the 2ch you skipped on row 1 counts as a sc, you will be sc in the top chain), ch1, turn
Row 3: sc, *(sc, 2dc) in next st, sk2*, repeat from * until you have 1st left, sc, ch1, turn
Repeat rows 2 & 3 until you have the required length.
