How To Crochet a Simple Shamrock Stitch Pattern

Chain Stitch – ch
Slip stitch – slt
Double crochet / Single crochet – dc/sc Treble / Double crochet – tr/dc
Half tr / half dc – htr/hdc
Stitch – st
Foundation Chain: Multiples of 18 + 13
Row 1: Skip 3 ch, make 1tr/dc in each of next st, turn.
Row 2: Make 3ch, skip first tr/dc, make 1tr/dc in each of next st, 1tr/dc in third ch, turn. Row 3: Make 1ch, 1dc/sc in each of next tr/dc below, 1dc/sc in third ch, turn.
Row 4: Make 1ch, 1dc/sc in each of next 5dc/sc below, * make shamrock: 1 round - make slt in back loop of next dc/sc, 7ch,
[ slt in front loop of same dc/sc, 7ch] – work 2 times, make slt in front loop of same dc/sc.
2 round – make leaf: [ slt, 1ch, 1dc/sc, 1htr/hdc, 3tr/dc, 3ch, slt, 3ch, 3tr/dc, 1htr/hdc, 1dc/sc ] in first space of 7ch.
Drop loop from hook. Insert hook from back to front into space of 7ch and grab the dropped loop. Pull it through the space. Make 1ch.
Make leaf over second space of 7 ch (repeat preceding step) and work stem:
Make 4ch, skip 2 sts back and work 1dc/sc over tr/dc of Row 1, make 5dc/sc in space of 4ch.
Make leaf over third space of 7 ch. Work 1ch.
Continue work row: make 1dc/sc in each of next 17dc/sc; rep from *, make shamrock, 1dc/sc in each of next 5dc/sc below, turn.
Row 5: Make 3ch, skip first tr/dc, make 1tr/dc in each of next 3 sts, * 2tr/dc in next st, 1tr/dc in each of next 16 sts; rep from *; 2tr/dc in next st, 1tr/dc in each of next 5 sts, turn.
Row 6: Make 3ch, skip first tr/dc, make 1tr/dc in each of next st, 1tr/dc in third ch, turn.
Row 7 & 8: Repeat Row 6.
Row 9: Make 1ch, 1dc/sc in each of next tr/dc below, 1dc/sc in third ch, turn.
Row 10: 1ch, * 1dc/sc in each of next 14 sts, make shamrock, 1dc/sc in each of next 3 sts; rep from *, 1dc/sc in
each of next 11 sts, turn.
Row 11: Make 3ch, skip first tr/dc, * 1tr/dc in each of next 12 sts, 2tr/dc in next st, make 1tr/dc in each of next 4 sts; rep from * , make 1tr/dc in each of next 10 sts, turn.
Row 12 & 13: Repeat Row 6.
Repeat rows 2 - 13 until you have reached your desired length.
