How to Crochet the Half Treble Crochet Stitch
Are you working a pattern that calls for the Half Treble Crochet Stitch? This is a simple stitch that is nice and tall, and super easy to learn. Let’s do it!
The Half Treble crochet stitch is a combination of several of the most common crochet stitches. Using aspects of the half double crochet, the double crochet, and the treble crochet, we’re making tall, plush stitches that are great to look at, too. This stitch works up great with a bulky weight yarn.
There is no multiple for this stitch. Start with any number of chains.
Chain 2 to start a new row. This chain does not count as a stitch.
Abbreviated as the Htr in crochet patterns.
The short version: YO 2x, pull up a loop, YO pull through 2, YO pull through 3. Stitch made!
Chain any number to start. If you’re needing the stitch count to be a certain number, you’ll want to chain to that length, then add another 2 chains to account for the height of the first row.
Yarn over twice, insert the hook in the 3rd chain from the hook and pull up a loop. (4 loops on hook)
Yarn over and pull through two loops. (3 loops on hook)
Yarn over and pull through remaining three loops.
Stitch made!
Continue adding stitches until you get to the end of the chain.
To start a new row you will…
Chain 2 and turn, Htr in the first stitch of the row and in each stitch across.
fantastic!!!!
