Rolling Waves Crochet Stitch Photo Tutorial

This stitch creates a beautiful wavy pattern that looks gorgeous when used with 2 or more colors.
This stitch can be used for baby blankets and afghans, cushions, rugs, shawls, scarves and other projects.

Materials
- 4mm crochet hook
- Marriner Yarns DK in red and pink
Abbreviations
- magic ring
- ch – chain
- yo – yarn over
- sc – single crochet
- hdc – half double crochet
- dc – double crochet
- tr – treble stitch
Notes
- ch1 at the end of each row does not count as a stitch
- stitches contained within ** are the repeat section for that row
- I used red and pink for my swatch, feel free to use as many colors as you like.
Instructions
Starting Chain: Starting chain should be a multiple of 8x +3 chains, my starting chain for this tutorial has 51 chains.
Row 1: sc in 3rd ch, *hdc, dc, 2tr, dc, hdc, 2sc*, repeat ** until the end of the row, ch1, turn
Row 2: ch4 (counts as a treble stitch), tr, dc, hdc, 2sc, *hdc, dc, 2tr, dc, hdc, 2sc*, repeat ** until you have 4 stitches left, hdc, dc, 2tr, turn
Row 3: ch4 (counts as a treble stitch), tr, dc, hdc, 2sc, *hdc, dc, 2tr, dc, hdc, 2sc*, repeat ** until you have 4 stitches left, hdc, dc, 2tr, ch1, turn
Row 4: 2sc, *hdc, dc, 2tr, dc, hdc, 2sc*, repeat ** until the end of the row, ch1, turn
Row 5: 2sc, *hdc, dc, 2tr, dc, hdc, 2sc*, repeat until the end of the row, turn
Repeat rows 2, 3, 4, and 5 until you have the required length.
If you want a flat border, don’t make the last row.
