Treble Crochet Stitch Photo Tutorial

The treble crochet stitch is not used often, but it is a nice one! Typically considered the tallest “basic” crochet stitch it is definitely a must-know stitch. It provides a looser, taller fabric than a double crochet and certainly than a half double or single crochet stitch. Ready to learn how to make the treble crochet stitch?

How to Triple Crochet:

1. Chains as many chains as you like, then chain three more. The three chains provide you with the height needed to start the row.

2. Yarn over twice and insert your hook into the fourth chain from your hook; pull up a loop. You should now have four loops on your hook.

3. Yarn over and pull through two.

4. yarn over and pull through two.

5. Yarn over and pull through two.

 Treble crochet stitch complete!

To start a new row we will chain three to get the height needed and turn, then place the first treble crochet stitch of that row in the very first stitch.
