How To Crochet The Back Post Treble (BPtr) Photo Tutorial

Materials

• Any weight yarn, I'm using a #4 medium worsted weight yarn.

Tools

• A crochet hook to match your yarn weight. I'm using a 5 mm hook (US Size H-8)

Stitches/Abbreviations (US Terms)

• ch(s) – chain(s)
• BPtr – back post treble crochet
• fdc – foundation double crochet
• FPtr – front post treble crochet
• rep – repeat
• sc – single crochet
• sl st – slip stitch
• st(s) – stitch(es)
• tr – treble stitch

Instructions

1. You'll need to start a with a row stitches. Here I chain 30.

2. Tr in the 4th ch from your hook, and in each ch to the end of the row. (27 sts)

3. Ch 4, or use an alternative. This counts as the first stitch of the row.

4. Yarn over 2x.

5. Start with your hook in the back of your work.

6. Insert the from the back to the front between the post of the stitches.

7. Go across the front of the stitch insert the hook between the post of the stitches to the back of the work.

8. Yarn over and pull up a loop (4 loops on your hook)

9. Yo and pull through 2 loops on your hook (3 loops on hook),

10. Yo and pull through 2 loops again (2 loops on hook),

11. Yo and pull through the last 2 loops on your hook to complete the BPtr back post treble crochet stitch.
