Behemoth Blanket Crochet Pattern

The Behemoth Blanket was born of a love of Corner to Corner Crochet worked in the Round. We are making large “tiles” that are then compiled into a gorgeous geometric design. If you, too, love Corner to Corner crochet worked in rounds, this blanket is perfect for you!

Materials:

Worsted Weight Yarn in 3 colors (Big Twist Value used)

-approx. 6500 yards total (majority Color B)

Crochet hook in size I/5.5mm

Gauge: unimportant

Pattern Notes:

Pattern written using US terms.

Do not weave in ends from changing colors in the decrease (corner) rows right away. Use those tails to seam squares during assembly.

Begin decreasing, during which you will create each corner of the square before moving onto the next.

Rounds 16 – 29: Turn work to the left so the working yarn is in front of the stitches. Skip first st, loosely sl st in next. Sl st in next st. * ch-2, 3dc around ch-sp, join to top of next block * repeat between * * until you run out of blocks.

Change colors for the corners in the following sequence:

Rows 16 & 17: Color B

Rows 18 – 20: Color C

Rows 21 – 23: Color B

Rows 24 – 26: Color A

Rows 27 & 28: Color B

Row 29: Color C

Fasten off and do not weave in ends.

Assembly:

Use the yarn tails left from changing colors where possible to seam the squares to one another using the Mattress Stitch. Use new yarn where necessary. Weave in all ends.

Border:

Attach yarn between any two blocks with sl st…

Row 1: Ch-1, sc in same sp, * ch-2, sc in next sp * repeat between * * around, placing one sc in each corner st. Join to first st with sl st.

Row 2: Ch-1, do not turn, (sc, ch-2, 2dc) in each ch-sp around. Join to top of first st. Weave in all ends.

Finished!
