How to Crochet the Pineapple Stitch

Instructions

Double crochet / Single crochet – dc/sc Treble / Double crochet – tr / dc
Bobble - shell st – BSt: work 9 tr/dc in the same space of 2 (or 3) chs, drop the loop from your hook. Insert your hook from front to back under the top 2 loops of the first tr/dc of the group and grab the dropped loop. Pull it through the stitch, and then make 1ch.

Make 10 foundation chs.

Row 2: Make 5ch. For all next stripes work joining instead 5ch: 2ch + 1dc/sc in space of 5 ch of another stripe + 2ch.
Work shell in shell, 1ch, 1tr/dc + 1ch + 1tr/dc in space of 3ch, 1ch, shell in shell, turn.
Row 3: Make 5ch, shell in shell, 2ch, 1tr/dc + 1ch + 1tr/dc in space of 1ch, 2ch, shell in shell, turn.
Row 4: Make 5ch, shell in shell, 3ch, 1tr/dc + 1ch + 1tr/dc in space of 1ch, 3ch, shell in shell, turn. Row 5: Make 5ch, shell in shell, 3ch, shell in space of 1ch, 3ch, shell in shell, turn.
Row 6: Make 5ch, shell in shell, 3ch, 7tr/dc in shell in the middle, 3ch, shell in shell, turn.
Row 7: Make 5ch, shell in shell, 3ch, work 1tr/dc + 1ch in each of the next 7tr/dc below, 2ch, shell in
shell, turn.
Row 8: Make 5ch, shell in shell, 3ch, work dc/sc + 2ch in each of the next 6 spaces of 1ch, 1ch, shell in shell, turn.
Row 9: Make 5ch, shell in shell, 3ch, * 1BSt in space of 2ch, 2ch, 1dc/sc n next space of 2ch, 2ch; rep from * 1 more time, 1Bst in next space of 2ch, 3ch, shell in shell, turn.
Row 10: Make 5ch, shell in shell, work 4ch and 1dc/sc in space of 2ch after the first Bst, 3ch and 1dc/sc in next space of 2ch before the second Bst, 3ch and 1dc/sc in space of 2ch after second Bst, 3ch and 1dc/sc in space of 2ch before third Bst, then make 4ch, shell in shell and turn.
Row 11: Make 5ch, shell in shell, 4ch, 1BSt in space of 3ch, 2ch, 1dc/sc n next space of 2ch, 2ch, 1Bst in next space of 2ch, 4ch, shell in shell, turn.
Row 12: Make 5ch, shell in shell, work 4ch and 1dc/sc in space of 2ch after the first Bst, 3ch and 1dc/sc in next space of 2ch before the second Bst, 4ch, shell in shell and turn.
Row 13: Make 5ch, shell in shell, 4ch, 1BSt in space of 3ch, 4ch, shell in shell, turn.
Row 14: Make 5ch, shell in shell, work 4ch and 1dc/sc in top of Bst, 4ch, shell in shell and turn. Row 15: Make 5ch, shell in shell, 3ch, shell in shell and turn.
Repeat rows 2 – 15 until you have reached your desired length.
Stripe B
Make 22 foundation chs.
Row 1: Skip 3ch, 2tr/dc + 1ch + 3tr/dc in next ch, 3ch, skip 3ch, * 1dc/sc in next ch, 2ch, skip 1ch; rep from * 5 more times, 1ch, shell in last ch, turn.
Row 2: Repeat Row 9 of the Stripe A.
Row 3: Repeat Row 10 of the Stripe A. Work the first joining to the stripe A: make 2chs, 1dc/sc in
space of 5chs between shells of the 2nd and the 3rd rows and 2chs.
Continue work repeating rows of Stripe A.
