How to Crochet the Treads Stitch Photo Tutorial
If you are looking for a dense and thick crochet stitch pattern, this uniquely worked Treads crochet stitch might just be the right one for you!
The Treads crochet stitch is a wonderfully easy crochet stitch to work. It is a one row repeat that shows its texture off on both sides. This does make it great for reversible projects. But be aware as the stitch is quite dense, it would take a while to create a larger project with it such as a blanket. The resulting fabric is also quite heavy, but it is beautiful!

Pattern Notes:
This stitch is worked in rows in this tutorial and it may be worked in one colour or many. I will be working this pattern in a solid colour.
To begin make a slip knot and make a foundation chain. For this stitch you will need an even number of stitches for your foundation chain.
For example, ch 32.
Crochet Treads Stitch:
Row One: Sc in the 3rd ch from your hook, sc in each st across. Ch 2, turn.
Row Two: Beginning in the next st, work rsc2tog all the way across to the final ch-2 sp, sc in final ch-2 sp. Ch 2, turn.
And that’s it!
For the rest of the pattern simply repeat row two for as long as you would like. Fasten off, weave in your ends.
